Aberdeen and Northern Friendly Society papers This deposit provides a detailed record of the Society's activities, from its establishment in 1862, until its amalgamation with the Hearts of Oak Benefit Collecting Society in 1973. It contains minutes of weekly, committee (including social committee, 1896 - 1923) and Directors' meetings, 1865 - 1973; financial records (including full run of annual reports), 1863 - 1935; and a substantial quantity of printed papers, including rules and regulations, burial branch contribution cards, programmes for social meetings, publicity, and historical information, 1865 - 1962.
