<dc:description>Notes entitled 'Impressions of Canada, September 1948'; letters sent from Mary Esslemont to her mother during her Canada trip, 3 - 24 September 1948; and four printed booklets: 'The Japanese Canadians', 'Frontier of Destiny - The Canadian Arctic', 'Soviet Policy Abroad', 'Canada in a Two-Power World.'

In her final letter, she responds to her mother's news of John Taylor's appointment as Principal [of Aberdeen University] by saying "I don't know if it will be a popular appointment or not, but I think he will be an excellent Principal from every point of view.
