  <dc:title>Loan receipts</dc:title>
<dc:description>Loan receipts for monies lent by Mary Esslemont and Dr Elizabeth Walker (Mary Esslemont's practice partner) to poorer members of their practice, 1920s - 1930s. Some names are recurring and most recipients are female. The loans appear to have asissted large families and mothers with new babies: 'received from Dr Esslemont for care of baby ... £2 ... for pram.' Most of the receipts are written on Mary Esslemont's practice-headed notepaper (22 Waverley Place and 136 Victoria Road); two are written on Aberdeen Dispensary and Vaccine Institution notepaper.</dc:description>
