  <dc:description>Letter from Elizabeth Montagu, Sandleford, to Mrs Arbuthnot, Peterhead, saying that she has written this letter before receiving Arbuthnot's two letters; enclosing a letter written to Arbuthnot and explaining the reason why the enclosed letter was returned to Sandleford - Mr Montagu returned from Northumberland to the south earlier than expected, and all packages were subsquently sent to Sandleford.  Montagu writes that she has not heard anything regarding Mr Beattie and asks Arbuthnot to inform her about him in a letter directed through Mr Montagu, Manchester Square.  Letter says 'This morning brought ?the tydings of Peace to us which has added to the tranquill delights of an autumnal day &amp; made by airing more gay.  I am sure a heart so ?b as yours will rejoyce that we shall not incur the ?measures of War'.
