She mentions how she found it very difficult to find a joiner in Aberdeen who would properly make boxes for sending away the jars. Letter talks of Mrs Beattie's gratitude towards Mrs Montagu and describes how she used to do similar painting activities when she was younger. Letters talks of how Mr Beattie is fond of music and that Mrs Beattie spends her free time practising her music. She says that she is happy to stay at home and has not been to a place of public entertainment since leaving London. Mrs Beattie writes of her concern with Mrs Montagu's poor health and advises that the summer season and staying in the country will improve Mrs Montagu's health. Letter talks of Mr Beattie's delicate state of health and how he will spend his summer riding and being in the country, although Mrs Beattie says she will miss and worry about him.
