John Kemp to James Beattie from Columbia Col, NY Asks Beattie's help for degree for an old Marischal student, a Mr Urquhart who was at Marischal and could not afford to take a degree. Kemp was a old classmate of Professor Beattie, Beattie's nephew [Kemp was at Marischal College 1779-1783], and he is now Professor of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy at Columbia college, New York. Mr Wilson, their professor of Greek and Latin, and Mr Bisset, preacher of the Episcopal church, are also alumni of Marischal 22 November 1794
