<dc:title>William Laing to James Beattie from Peterhead</dc:title>
<dc:description>Glad to hear accounts of King's health. Comments on nonjurors. Laing wishes his own church to be on a better footing with the bishops and thinks Beattie's plan that they should join the diocese of Carslile is the best. Sievwright does not want to bring any accusations against the nonjurors, but does not want them to be given superiority over the other Episcopalians. Adamsons admitted to his office, though Mr Moir violently opposed his appointment. [Dr George Moir was Minister for Peterhead. Notwithsdtanding Laing's comment, in 1794 Moir wrote warmly of Adamson's appointment and abilities in his account of Peterhead in Sinclair's Statistical Account of Scotland]</dc:description>
