<dc:title>Alexander Strachan to James Beattie from Rotterdam </dc:title>
<dc:description>Concerning the release of Beattie's nephew Mr Duers. Strachan seems to have paid money (£5 - 13s) for his release from prison in Holland and also when the ship he was on was captured. But has not heard a word since from Duers. David and James Duers were the sons of Beattie's sister Mary. He is sending first volume of French translation of Lavater on physiognomy by ship to Beattie as a present. Look forward to receiving Beattie's essay [Dissertations] as a present.</dc:description>
