  <dc:title>To Elizabeth Montagu from Aberdeen</dc:title>
<dc:description>Dismal weather and horrors of political atmosphere. Approves suspension of Habeas Corpus. Issues of treason at Old Baily still undecided, but nation must from them be satisfied that conspiracies agaist the constitution were actually formed. Beilieves one of Mrs Montagu's letters lost. Thanks for the kind comments on James Hay Beattie's book, which she said should be published. Beattie still undecided. He would not mind being abused by half-witted critics, but does not want any abuse of James Hay Beattie. Beattie has been obnoxious to reviewers ever since he wrote against Hume. </dc:description>
