<dc:title>To Sir Joshua Reynolds, from Aberdeen</dc:title>
<dc:description>Arrived home two or three weeks ago. Has been out of order with bilious complaint, or would have written earlier to thanks Reynolds for offering portrait to Beattie on the day he left London. Reynolds has erected a monument to Beattie which will make the world think he was an extraordinary person when his works are forgotten. Questions of where it goes. Heavily deleted line about Beattie's plans for it if Reynolds does not want to keep it in his own collection - probably saying he would like to offer it to the King. Has heard nothing yet of the print, though he asked Watson to send him a few of the best copies. </dc:description>
