James George, administrator and paleographer: research papers relating to Robert Beale, administrator, diplomat and Clerk of the English Privy Council The collection contains photocopies of items from the Beale papers (MS 1009) with handwritten transcriptions of many of them; George's listing of the Beale papers with content descriptions and notes on most of them; and papers relating to other paleographic studies and teaching, including photographic reproductions of documents dating from the late 15th to th early 17th century. 1952-1974
