  <dc:title>Disposition by Robert Fraser in favour of Andrew fraser respecting lands of Cowburtie, Brigend and Urinell.</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Disposition by Robert Fraser, now fiar of Cairnbulg, formerly styled fiar of Durisbeltie, in favour of Andrew Fraser, his brother, respecting the lands of Cowburtie, Brigend and Urinell, to whom in return for money payments, are transferred rights in five letters of reversion and other writs concerning these lands with promise of infeftment of the Crown (in superiotities similar to that held by himself as heritable proprietor. Procuratory of resignation is included.
5 letters of reversion are:1. 22 Nov. 1600 George Baird to Sir Alex. Fraser 200 merks on shadow 1/3 of Cowbartie - seee 2701/19-21;2. Alex Chalmer to do. 1200 merks on sunny 1/3 of Cowburtie , 6 July 1605- see 26 and 38; 3. Alex. Chalmers todo., 1000merks on middle third of Cowburtie, 6 July 1605 - see 27 &amp; 40; 4. Alex. Smyth (and wife) and Alex. Chalmer in Brigend of Ardley &amp; over croft of Cowbartie of 6 June 1603- see 29; 5. Wm. Cuik in Urinell (&amp; his wife), todo 2000 merks in  urinall etc. - see 33 of 9 June 1603.

 Phillorth barony of which said lands are part held in ward and relief of the Crown by Sir Alex. F., heritor thereof and taxed in his favour for 1000 merks as long as whole barony remains in ward and ?? 3,000merks at marriage of each heir. Robert Fraser had acquired above lands &amp; lands of Cairnbulg and others contained in contracts &amp; granted by Sir Alex F. and had had himselfinfeft of the crown of said lands, which had been erected into barony of Cairnbulg holding in ward and relief of the Crown taxed at £100 Sc. yearly &amp; 400 merks at marriage of heir.As C owbartie, Brigend and Urinell are only part of new barony it is provided that when lands are freed of wadsets and burdens stated, Andrew F. becones both heritable proprietor and superior thereof, he will be able to have himself infeft therein, holding immediately of crown in ward and relief, tax ward being £12 Sc. yearly and £30 Sc. on heir's marriage as his proportion of duties of Cairnbulg.
