Extract by Alexander Gibson of registration on that date at Edinburgh at the request of James Sandielands, advocate, on behalf Sir Alex. Fraser of Phillorth and Fraserburgh and by John Belschis, advocate, for Robert Stewart in Fraserburgh and his wife, Beatrix Cummyng of contract between these parties signed at Fraserburgh on 12 May 1595. Contract stated that between the parties, for £1,000 Sc. Fraser was to infeft Stewart and his wife in 12 oxgang of land on the south side of Innernorth (land then occupied by John Birnie), with 4 oxgang adjacent occupied by Alex. Smyth, all in barony of Phillorth and parish of Rathen, feu charteretc. to be granted held of Fraser and his heirs for 10 merks feuduty yearly, etc., redeemable for £1000 Sc. and 1 year tack after redemption for 3 chalders victual, etc., etc. Procuratory of registration included.
