Charter granted by John [Hamilton], Archbishop of St. Andrews, in favour of Master George Fraser and Cristian Ogilvie, respecting [annual rents from] the Kirkton of Durris and its salmon fishing in the County of Kincardine Charter granted at Edinburgh by John [Hamilton], Archbishop of St. Andrews, in favour of Master George Fraser and Cristian Ogilvie, his wife, etc., respecting [? annual rents from] the Kirkton of Durris and its salmon fishing in the county of Kincardine granted to them in feuferm for £100 Sc. - precept of sasine is included. One endorsement gives year as 1557 and another as 1558, but text has 1558. On parchment in Latin with archbishop's signature and beautifully preserved archiepiscopal seal 3" in diameter appended on tag (family arms impressed on reverse side of wax). Second tag has now no seal attached. Endorsed as "prima carta"[? teinds rather than rents.] 24 November 1558
