  <dc:description>Apparently compiled in 17th century referring to lands belonging to lairds of Phillorth, Durris, Fraser, Stoneywood, Muchall- Cairnbulg, Innernorth, Urinall, Cowburtie  &amp; etc.. Original wrappers removed from bundles. All filed in blue folder in Box 13 after separate items in the collection.
 "Inventar of the wriets of the lands of Carnbulg and others heretablie belonging to the Lord Fraser" 8fsp.pp.
5 "Masses" are listed in an inventory of the "Progress of the writts of the lands of Carnbulg ,Cowburtie, Innernorth &amp; etc. hertablie pertaining to Andrew, Lord Fraser "who (appearing to a short note) had been pursued by the laird of Phillorth in 1652 for reduction and improbation of his right to the lands of Carnbulg etc., did then produce the writs here listed and present Lord Fraser was now in a process of declarator of property at his instance against all parties pretending interest to these lands had reproduced them "in modem tituli", with his father's sasine and his own, summons of declarator etc. and a ..... "certificatione procurit be Phillorth in the English tyme", and a summons of ?review of the ? hornings and executions.

1st Mass: Progress from Laird of Phillorth to Laird of Durris. 6 items April 1615, 21 Oct. 1616, 22 Jan 1617. (Resignation, charter &amp; precept in favour of Alex. and Robert Fraser of Durris). Cairnbulg.

2nd Mass: Progress of rights from Robt. Fraser and Alex. Henderson (as compriser of lands), to Andrew Fraser of Steenewood ("who was granfather to Andrew now Lord Fraser"[if 2nd Lord Fraser is meant, for grandfather read great grandfather but perhaps 3rd Lord Fraser now concerned]. 8 Apr. 1619 - 25 Feb 1620 13 items Cairnbulg etc.

3rd Mass: Assignations to reversions which Fraser, Alex. or Robert of Durris (or Cairnbulg) was to give to Fraser of Stoneywood and a decreet of improbation at Stoneywood's instance 5 items 2 June 1621, 13 November 1619, 20 April 1620 (reg 18 May), 14 July 1621 (reg. 24 Sept, 1624), Feb. 1621. Followed by some details of wadsets (no dates) on Cairnbulg, Cowburtie &amp; Innernorth, granted by Laird of Phillorth - all redeemed by Stoneywood.

4th Mass. Concerning comprising by Alex. Forbes of Pitsligo with the deduction of the older and process of declaration of redemption thereof led by Stoneywood after acquition of rights etc. 29 Oct. 1617 to 8 Jan. 1625 (reg. 3 Feb.. 1625) 21 items.

5th Mass. "A number of Promiscous papers" taken out from amongst"the writs relating partly to Phillorth, to Durris to Lovat and to Pitsligo. 26 items 20 Mar.1609, 1601, 1620, 3Feb. 1637, 1622, 4 May 1619, 28 May 1618, , 14 September 1618, 4 May 1619,3 June 1620,16 May 1608 &amp; n.d.</dc:description>
