Bruce N.P. and John Cushnie N.P. &amp; taken by them at the "maner place of Mukkel at the compearance of Andrew, Lord Fraser, with a copy of a summons of reduction and improbation " by warrand and delyverance of the commissionairs for administratione of Justice to the peopil in Scotland" signed by John Pittendreiche, messenger, executor thereof by which Fraser under the "pretendit name and false  designatione  of Andrew Lord Muchell" was ordered to appear before the commissioners at Edinburgh on 21 Dec. next and 31 dec. to answer at the instance of the prior of the estate and and Alex, Fraser, elder,&amp; younger of Phillorth &amp; produce certain writs etc. showing his rights to the barony of Cairnbulg which Phillorth father and son allege to be null  &amp;"improven" and claiming right thereto. Lord Fraser refused to accept the summons  as not addressed to him showing as proof, the letters patent granted to his late father and could not be expected to answer charges against him. so addressed and made protestations acordingly against the summons and for "remeid of law" against the Frasers of Phillorth and "took instruments" as now testified by  the notaries before James Crichtone ofKinderdie(?), said John  Pittendriche, Francis Fraser, Wilm. Miln, James Smyth  in Easter -- &amp; others not named.No old refs.</dc:description>
