  <dc:title>Extract of registration of a contract between Alex. Keith and Alex. Fraser of Durris.</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Extract by George Hay, clerk register, of registration on that date at Edinburgh by James Hamilton (for Alex. Keith of Balmore and William Keith of Ludquharnie) and Wm. Davidson ( for Alex. Fraser, fiar of Durris, as principal, &amp; Andrew Fraser of Stoneywood, Alex Buchane of Auchmacloy &amp; John Arbuthnot of Carnegall, as cautioners), of a contract signed  at Fauchfield on 27 Dec. 1606 between above Alex. Keith &amp; Alex. Fraser of Durris, Keith as heritable propietor of town and lands of Wester Essentullie called ?? dinges of Pitullie, obliges himself to enfeft Fraser in said lands in parish of Durris &amp; sheriffdom of Kincardine to be held of Keith in feu for yearly payment of feu duties. Said Alex. Keith of Balmure and Wm. Keith of Ludquharne also promise to grant Fraser bond of relief respecting said lands apart from crown tax ward duties  @ rent of 5 merks due to formerly the chaplains of St. Nicholas kikr of Aberdeen &amp; now to the burgh which Fraser is to be responsible for and also for present wadset to Alex. Keith in Glassie under reversion of 1200 merks &amp; excepting 4 year tack by Alex Keith of Balmore to george Morieson of said lands of Eschintillies but Fraser given rights in reversion of same granted by Alex. Keith in Glassie to Alex. Keith of Balmure (at Aberdeen) 15 Nov. 1605 in contract of same date - also given rights to tiendsheaves on payment of old tiend duties and to declamator obtained against the late Alex. Knox(? Knowles) sometime in Wester Eschintullie &amp; his son Wm. for delivery of instrument of sasine against Thomas Mollysone, John Irving of Kincausie, David Knox or Knowles, burgess of Aberdeen &amp; George Knowles, burgess of Aberdeen cautioners as in Dis.... of suspensign of said decreet obtained by Alex. Keith of Balmure against the said late Alex. Knowles etc. In return Keith to be paid 3,500 merks as price of the lands payable in two instalments 1200 merks to Alex. Keith in Glass for redemption of lands &amp; 2,300 merks balance to Alex Keith of Balmore by Whit. 1607 and 300 merks in case of failure &amp; 1000 merks grant obligation @ rent  ....... debt till paid. Procuratory of registration included.
