Copy of extract made by George or William Cockburn N.P., Edinburgh, of deed granted at Edinburgh on 14 December 1536 by the Bishop Of Aberdeen [William Stewart] as extracted from registers of the cathedral church of Aberdeen by Nicolas Hay, clerk ? Diocese of Brechin [on paper in Latin]. [For transcription of modern copy see W. Cramond, The Church of Rathven, p. ?]. This copy was found by W. Cramond among papers in the Advocates' Library, Aberdeen, which had belonged to Hay of Rannes, preceptor to the hospital - see W. Cramond, History of the Hospital or Bede House of Rathven p. 1-3, (1890), re. The foundation of hospital of Rathven and bedemen thereof.</dc:description>
