The writs date from 1593-1761 and the books include English and Latin Bibles, ‘Dapins Solutions’, ‘Enchiridion’ and ‘A large parcel of Barclay’s letters in sheets’. A receipt by John Gordon, advocate, is appended which acknowledges delivery by Jean Barclay, relict of deceased Thomas Gordon, merchant in Aberdeen, executrix of Anna Gordon, of first 15 of writs inventoried.</dc:description>
