ActivityThe Scottish Volunteer Medical Officers' Association was formed in 1896 to promote the interests of the Volunteer Medical Service and to establish a School of Instruction for Volunteer Medical Officers. The Council consisted of 10 members and a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and two Secretaries, all to be elected annually. After the Annual Meeting the members dined together. The Association organised a competition for the Ambulance Trophy, which included: First Aid; Stretcher Drill; and General Knowledge. In 1938, following the formation of the Territorial Army, the Association was wound up and the trophy was given to the Military Museum at Edinburgh Castle.
