ActivitySir David Lyndsay of the Mount was born 1490 to a noble family near Cupar. He became a regular attendant at the court of King James IV (1488 -1513) and was a herald, knight and eventually Lord Lyon, King of Arms in the court of King James V (1513 - 1542). Sir David Lyndsay was the first Renaissance poet of Scotland and many of his poems touch on political and religious themes. He died in 1555.
