Administrative HistoryGray family of Gray and Kellas solicitors (disbanded 2011) senior partners were: Peter John Shaw Gray MA 1970 LLB (Edin) 1972, his sister Caroline Gray (married name Forbes) LLB (Aberdeen). Their father and uncle (deceased) were also partners in the firm, John Hector Gray MA 1932, LLB 1939 and Alexander Gray MA 1925, LLB 1927.

John Hector Gray, MA 1932, cLL.B(with commendation) 1939, son of John P.S.G Solicitor, born Aberdeen, 14th September 1912. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1937 and a solicitor in 1940. John Hector served in the Scots Rifles 1942 - 1943 until he was released to take up employment as a costs investigator for the Admiralty. He was married to Lizella Jean (Sheena), the daughter of Peter Croall of Kelso, in Edinburgh on the 14th September 1944. He became a partner in Gray and Kellas solicitors Aberdeen in 1946.


Alexander Gray, MA 1925, LL.B. 1927, son of John P.S.G Solicitor, born Aberdeen, 10th October 1904. He was admitted as a law agent in 1928 and became a partner in Gray and Kellas, solicitors, Aberdeen in 1930. He was admitted as a member of the society of Advocates in Aberdeen in 1930
