Administrative History | Sundry Ordinances regulating and affecting the custody and management of the libraries were made by Commissioners under the Universities (Scotland) Act, 1858 and the University (Scotland) Act, 1889 and by the University Court under the Universities (Scotland) Acts, 1858 to 1932. Ordinance no. 407 (1962) ordained that there was to be a Library Committee composed of members of the University Court and Senate, charged with the superintendence of all libraries belonging to the University. The Committee presented an annual report to Senate for transmission to Court. The Committee was formally abolished in 1999, after falling into disuse. |
