Extent6 volumes, 1 file
DescriptionProceedings of the Anatomical and Anthropological Society, 1899 - 1902, 1906 - 1914 (printed) and 1912 - 1962 (manuscript).

The Society's earliest records were lost in 1914 and of these, only a minute book recording its proceedings from 1912 - 1914, appears to have been recovered. Printed 'Proceedings' dating from the establishment of the Society in 1899 - 1914, largely fill this gap in the manuscript series, although they are also lacking for the period 1902 - 1906 and do not appear to have been continued beyond 1914.

The 'Proceedings' of 1899 - 1902 contain a report of the Society's first meeting, including the inaugural address by Professor Robert Reid. Thereafter, they provide a record of its activities, including minutes of meetings, abstracts of lectures and debates, and details of 'Anatomical Variations' presented to the society. They also contain reports of gifts made to the Anatomical and Anthropological museums, with a description of the objects presented.
