Description | Slide shows a table (handwritten) describing 'Some Simple Reflexes in Man'. There are three headings which are 'Response'; 'Receptor'; and 'Effector'. There are four responses: '(I) contraction of pupil in strong light; (II) secretion of saliva on smelling food; (III) sneezing after taking snuff; (IV) knee jerk.' The receptors are, respectively: 'Retina, Olfactory. Membrane, Olfactory Membrane, End organs in Tendon.' The effectors are respectively: 'Plain muscle of Iris.'; 'Salivary glands'; 'Muscles of chest and diaphram'; 'Extensor muscles of thigh'. |
