Description | Slide shows a chart of 'Pituitary antidiuresis' in a dog. Title below chart reads: 'Fig. 132 - Experiment on dog to which 250cc water was administered by stomach tube, the urine being collected by catheter every half hour after (N. S. Craig). The ordinates represent cc. urine secreted: the abscissa marks the time in hours from the commencement of the experiment.' The following explains lines a and b on chart: 'A control experiment without pituitary. B experiment (a few days after) with injection of 5mg dry posterior lobe extract subcutaneously at the same time as the administration of water by the stomach. It will be seen that the commencement of diuresis is delayed for three 1/2 hours.' |
