Administrative HistoryIn the Department of Anatomy a number of attendants were employed to help with the running and maintenance of the teaching and dissecting rooms. The best known is Robert Gibb, Professor Robert Reid's 'faithful assistant', who was present during his dissection of the Tay Whale. Others employed in Reid's time and pictured in this photograph are Robert Slessor, assistant, 1902 - 1903, and James Moir, attendant, 1895 - 1945.

A list of departmental staff for the period 1899 - 1925 is given in the department's first student attendance register (MS U 1332/1/1/1).
