DescriptionMemorandum by the Local Government Board, Edinburgh, seeking opinion of the Solicitor-General regarding the soundness of their interpretation of Section 69 of the Public Health Act of 1897, 20 May 1918.

The Board sought reassurance that their co-operation with 'the Aberdeen University Authorities' in supplying subjects for medical examination complied with Section 69 of the Act, which placed a responsibility on Local Authorities to bury unclaimed bodies in a timely manner. The memorandum was endorsed by the Solicitor-General.
