Administrative HistoryImprovements made by Lockhart to the Anatomy Department in the University of Aberdeen, c 1930s - 1940s, were based upon the new Medical School that he had helped to plan in Birmingham University, c 1935. Here, he had worked closely with architects to create an anatomy department that met the needs of modern medical teaching and these plans became something of a blueprint for changes he hoped to implement in Aberdeen. His efforts were hindered by lack of space and committed funds, and in the end he had to make do with a series of compromises achieved over a period of several years.
DescriptionBuilding plans of the Anatomy Department, University of Birmingham, c 1935, and proposed changes to the Natural History Department, Marischal College, University of Aberdeen, c 1960s.
