Administrative HistoryA number of student shows were organised to raise funds for a specific purpose or to mark a specific event and were not performed as part of Charities Week. These were organised by the SRC and usually included many of the production staff and cast who took part in the traditional Charities Week Student Show performance in April each year.

1934: Although there were two student shows in 1934, neither actually took place during Gala Week. 'Spice of Life' ran from 16-20 January 1934 in the MacRobert Hall, Schoolhill, 'in aid of the University Women's Union Bazaar' and 'Town and Gown', an updated version of the 1933 show, was performed in September 1934 to coincide with the British Association for the Advancement of Science meeting hosted in Aberdeen.

The Editorial (AUR) noted that at the time of Charities Week in April it was felt that "greater appreciation and enjoyment would result from the presentation of a second edition of "Town and Gown", ...in a new and revised form...when the British Association for the Advancement of Science was visiting the City of Aberdeen".
