Administrative HistoryThe Students' Charities Campaign has a long and esteemed history. It was formed in 1921 when the first production of the Student Show took to the stage, much to Aberdeen’s approval. One of the main highlights of the Aberdeen University's Student Charities Campaign is the annual Student Show, which is completely written, organised and performed by students. The first Show "Mock Trial" was performed in 1921 and marked the start of a well-loved annual tradition for the city. The Show was initially performed in the hall of the Aberdeen Grammar School but it soon became apparent that because of the show's popularity that a bigger venue would have to be found and the show was moved to the Aberdeen Training Centre. After four years of being performed there it was moved to the Palace Theatre, until it was destroyed by a fire in 1929. The Student Show was moved to His Majesty's Theatre, which has became the permanent home ever since. The show is always hugely popular and raises a great deal of money for the Aberdeen Student's Charities Campaign. Along with the Student Show, Aberdeen Students’ Charities Campaign also organises the Torcher Parade, which has grown to be the largest student torch-lit parade in Europe. In addition to this the Student Charities Campaign offers many other events which have become a huge part of the Campaign and the Aberdeen culture. These include the much loved Schools Collections, Fashion Show, Jailbreak, Hitchhike, Gala Saturday and the comic magazine Eureka.
