Custodial HistoryThe book was later in the possession of Dr. James Brown Craven, (1850-1924), Episcopalian clergyman, Orkney. The son of a clergyman, James Brown Craven was born in 1850 and ordained as Episcopal curate of St. Andrew’s, Aberdeen, in 1875. He quickly took on the parish of St Olaf, Kirkwall, Orkney, where he served until 1914. He was appointed to be Archdeacon of Orkney in 1913. He wrote several works on historical or religious subjects, mostly to do with Orkney. He died in 1924.
