SourceThe material belonged to Alexander M. Munro (1860-1911), historian. Munro was born in Aberdeen in 1860 and educated at Robert Gordon’s Hospital in the city. At the age of seventeen, after leaving school, he joined the local council as an employee, working in the City Chamberlain’s department. He had a keen interest in antiquarian history, and wrote a good deal about the history of Aberdeen’s administration. He joined the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, and was a member of the Aberdeen Philosophical Society. He became City Chamberlain in 1905, and died in 1911. It was acquired by the library in 1913.
