Administrative HistoryThe Society was established by 1754 "to raise a fund for relieving the necessities of such of the members as may be reduced to poor circumstances, or disabled from following their usual employment by age or misfortune, and their widows and orphans of a certain description" ('Constitution, Rules and Regulations', 1794). It was wound up in 1864.
DescriptionAccount Book, 1821 - 1864, containing annual accounts of the Society, subscriptions and annuity lists. Names and occupations of annuitants are given, with widows and orphans listed separately.
