Administrative HistoryHenry Benjamin Mitchell (M.A. 1878), born in Peterhead in April of 1856, had an accomplished career as both a solicitor (serving as Procurator-Fiscal for the burgh of Peterhead) and author. His published work includes 'Notable Landmarks in the Region of History' (1899) and many short stories serialized in 'The Buchan Observer', including 'The Redemption of Inchmarno' and other works included in this collection. As secretary and later president of the Buchan Field Club, he also contributed to its 'Transaction" papers on 'The Druids,' 'Coast Names Near Peterhead,' and 'Notes on the Parkhouse Circle.' Mitchell passed at his home in Dales, Peterhead on the 2nd of October, 1915.
