| Arrangement | The plans and drawings have been arranged generally according to different areas and functions of the Murchison platform (for example Health and Safety or Production). They are then arranged in order of the original barcode number, prefixed AB00 and followed by a six digit number, which in most cases also corresponds with date order. This system of arrangement was applied by the company presumably as an easy way to call up specific plans from a database. As running sequences of numbers seemed to group similar plans together (and by date) it was decided to follow this arrangement where possible. A small number of plans do not have a barcode number and were listed at the end of the series.
Numerous other reference numbers appear on the plans, particularly drawing numbers, and were recorded by the company responsible for producing the plan for Conoco or by Conoco itself if they made later amendments to plans. Drawing numbers have been included in the description field for each plan. Where later revisions have been made covering dates for individual plans will reflect this whereby the starting date is the date of the original design or drawing and the end date is the final date when revisions were recorded. |
