DescriptionThe original record, taken on a cimematographic machine, was transferred to VHS and that record was copied to DVD. The film is both ground and flying operations. Geoff is shown at the opening in the cockpit, and several other times also in the cockpit. There is a view of him landing with a damaged undercarriage. Then follows a much later series of statements by different pilots, including Geoff, at at French occasion. Finally we see Geoff looking for the location of a site where he crashed in France. Geoff Murphy was among the first entry students of Aberdeen University Air Squadron in 1941. He was a wartime Typhon pilot. In 1944 or 1945 as Flight Lieutenant he was in a Typhoon Squadron based in forward field in France. In 1949 he was a flying instructor and adjutant, and then Chief Flying Instructor of the squadron. Later he held more senior commanding posts before retiring with the rank of Wing Commander.
