DescriptionGroup of magazine articles from Diagnostic Imaging International and letters to and from Professor Mallard concerning an article about a possible Nobel Prize for MRI in which he was misrepresented due to inaccurate information recieved from Professor Lauterbur:

1)Original article in Diagnostic Imaging International dated May 1993 entitled 'Will a Nobel Prize be awarded in MRI?' in which Professor Mallard was dismissed as a physician and 'enthusiast'.

2)Letter from Professor Mallard to the editor of Diagnostic Imaging International dated 9 December 1993 asking for confirmation that he had recieved his letter of correction and whether it was likely to be published.

3)Letters page from Diagnostic Imaging International dated November 1993 which contains most of Professor Mallard's letter.

4)Letter from Peter Ogle, Editor of Diagnostic Imaging International dated 10 december 1993 which accompanied the copy of the letters page from theNovember edition of Diagnostic Imaging International.

5)Letter from Professor Mallard to the Editor of Diagnostic Imaging International dated 29 December 1993 thanking him for publishing his letter though disappointed that it was not included in its entirety.

6)Letter to Professor Lauterbur, Director of the Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Laboratory dated 29 December 1993 in which Professor Mallard corrects Professor Lauterbur's perception of him as a physician and enthusiast.

7)Letter to Professor Mallard from Philip Ward, the author of the article in Diagnostic Imaging International, dated 10 February 1994 apologising about the inaccuracies in the original article saying that he had not checked his source, Professor Lauterbur, thoroughly enough and will in future correct any false impression given.
