DescriptionCollection of letters and papers about arrangements for the Royal Society of Edinburgh Biomedical Research Seminar on 'Quantitative Imaging in vivo'. Professor Mallard gave the lead paper entitled 'Quantitative imaging in vivo. Why? What is being done now? What are some of the problems? What may the future be?' which was published in the Clinical Physics and Physiological Measurement, Special Issue, volume 11, supplement A, 1990 and also the summing up. The 'summing up' is in the same journal as MS 3819/1/222/1. There is a handout for Professor Mallard's paper and a receipt from the librarian for the Royal college of Physicians of Edinburgh acknowledging the receipt of a copy of the Journal. Letter from Professor Mallard to Miss McDougall, The Royal Society of Edinburgh, dated 5 May 1989 regarding the arrangements for the upcoming seminar.
Letter from Professor Swanson Beck to Professor Mallard suggesting possible changes to the seminar. Reply from Professor Mallard to Professor Swanson Beck thanking him for his contribution and including an outline programme for the seminar.
Letter to Professor Mallard from Professor Sir Alastair Currie dated 1 March 1991 thanking him for sending a copy of the proceedings of the seminar.
Letter to Mrs Flenley form Professor Mallard dated 9 May 1991 which had been sent along with a copy of the proceedings of the seminar with condolences on the loss of her husband who had also been working to organise the seminar at the time of his death.
Letter to Professor Mallard from Mrs Flenley dated 14 May 1991 thanking him for the journal.

These copies are the original journal and papers although the letters from Professor Mallard are photocopies.
