1) Paper entitled ' Nuclear magnetic resonance observations in alcoholic cerebral disorder and the role of vasopressin' by J.A.O.Besson, A.I.M.glen, E.I.Foreman, A.MacDonald, F.W.Smith, J.M.S.Hutchionson, J.R.Mallard and G.W.Ashcroft, Department of Bio-Medical Physics and Bio-Engineering, University of Aberdeen and Departments of Nuclear Medicine and Medicine, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and published in The Lancet, 24 October, 1981. This copy is a photocopy.

2) Letter from Professor Rune Walstam, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm to Professor Mallard inviting him to their annual meeting of the medical profession in Sweden in December. Professor Mallard has made a number of handwritten notes including "My NMR paper Stockholm friday Dec 4 1981" and "I accepted. They have sponsor. My lecture about ~ hour. Probably on Friday 4th December. No need for me to write. Rune will write again with more details. He is arranging it". This copy is the original letter.

3) Letter from Professor Rune Walstram, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm to Professor Mallard dated 11 September 1981 about the length and timing of presentations by the professor to their annual Medical Society of Sweden meeting. Presentations to be in English. Handwritten note on front page "Save the prof's time in sweden" rest of note is written mainly in shorthand. This copy is the original letter.

4) Timetable for symposium in Sweden entitled 'Non-invasive examination of the liver - comparison with different methods" on Friday, 4 December, 1981, 11am-1pm. This copy is a typescript.

5) Letter from Professor Rune Walstram, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm to Professor Mallard with suggestions for titles for his presentations dated 15 September 1981. Handwritten notes stating "already printed, announce change when you are there". This copy is the original letter.

6) Letter from Dr Peter Aspelin, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm to Professor Mallard with information about one of his lectures and thanking him for coming. Handwritten notes by Professor Mallard "To file for Stockholm lecture" and "35 mins, 30 min talk". This copy is the original letter.
