DescriptionReport compiled after a safety audit was carried out on the platform, with the aim being to reduce potential hazards and accidents on board. Comprises three sections: Report highlighting problem areas and actions taken to redress them; Drawings of the central core and main gas lines; and Guidelines, for the audit team when carrying out the inspection. The majority of the file comprises internal memoranda and letters to the Department of Trade and Industry concerning various maintenance and safety matters on MCP-01, such as provision of training and equipment, accident statistics and report forms, and much information concerning helicopter safety. There are also copies of the UKOOA (UK Offshore Operators Association, now Oil & Gas UK) Safety Committee Dissemination of Information, detailing incidents reported to it in general (not necessarily from Total). Includes a summary of presentation and following question-and-answer session on helicopter operation/safety given by Bond Helicopters Ltd to MCP-01 crew. Also enclosed is a copy of the 'Report on the Implementation of a Joint UKOOA/Met Office Meteorological Observing Network in the North Sea' detailing the increase in the number of observing stations from three to eight, covering all stages of the project's development from initial suggestion to assessment of the completed project.
