Description | The survey was commissioned to update the Hazardous Area Classification of MCP-01, in accordance with the codes of practice, to take account of the modifications that had been made since the previous review (in 1983) and assess if receiving gas from fields other than Frigg had an effect on the classification. It also suggests remedial measures where the platform did not comply with the regulations. It is comprised of the following chapters: Summary; Introduction; Procedure for Hazardous Are Classification; Hazardous Area Classification Drawings; Anomalies and Other Areas of Concern Arising from the Survey; Conclusions and Recommendations. There are four appendices: Detailed methodology for establishing the dimensions of hazard zones within process plant areas; detailed record of the sources of release used to define the hazardous areas; glossary of terms; hazardous area drawings.
