Description | With some revisions (up to 2, April 1997). The Safety Case was produced in compliance with the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 1992, and written following UKOOA's (UK Offshore Operators Association) Formal Safety Assessment Procedure. The sections are: Introduction, which outlines why and how the Safety Case was produced, and by whom; Company Safety Management System, which covers safety activities outside the remit of the Installation Manager including exploration, drilling, and non-installation specific areas such as human resources, auditing and emergency response; Description of Facilities, providing general information such as the platform location and function, as well as specific details about the structure; Installation Safety Management System, detailing the systems, procedures and standards relating to concerning safety; Information Relating to Major Hazards, which is a summary of a formal safety assessment and identifies and assesses potential hazards; and Justification for Continued Operations, that demonstrates how the risks are as low as possible and therefore the platform should remain operational.
