DescriptionLetter from John Ellis, Gray's Inn, London, to David Skene in which he states that he has communicated information on dionoea muscipula to the 'Royal Academy of Upsal' which he will publish; he describes the contents of analysed 'coralline officinalis'; he suggests an arrangement of zoophytes with reference to Pallas' genera; he acknowledges that he is unequal to the task of arrangement and remarks that his pleasure consists more in the discovery of new genera and species; he will send a figure and dissection of the actinia sociata that Lord Hillsborough had sent him; he has received a letter from Solander in Madeira; having bettered Pallas in the article on corallina, he is now hard at work on gorgonias, he describes this work in detail; he has seen Dr Wilson who has promised to find the books Skene is looking for; Wilson told him that Skene had thought him dead, he describes his health; Dr Badenach expected soon in London; he wishes Skene would send him his remarks on Pallas's book, 12 November 1768.
