DescriptionLetter from David Skene to John Ellis in which he begins by remarking that he is sorry to hear that Ellis's good opinion of mankind has cost him so dear and that 'his instructors have been rather too severe'; he assures Ellis that whenever he has found something new, his first pleasure is in finding it and his second in thoughts of sharing the discovery with him; he was angry a few days before as 25 pennae marinae arrived within a few miles of Aberdeen but the courier dropped the bottle and destroyed them all; he hopes to get more pennae marinae specimens from a friend, 7 March 1767.
