DescriptionLetter from David Skene to John Ellis in which he suggests that Ellis's second volume would be more complete if he obtained plates of Keimsch: Sertularias from Linnaeus; [Linnaeus'] description of escara tubularia differs from Ellis's and this will shortly be described by Donati under the name Fistularia; he describes specimens he has seen with reference to [Ellis's] work; he remarks that he has 'no doubt of the corallines of Linn: being animal yet I could wish to see the inhabitants'; he is not satisfied with Donati's account of Corallines but has no time to discuss it in this letter; he discusses mollusca remaking that he thinks Linnaeus is wrong on the nereis pilagua and that he cannot find 'our common red urt: marina rondel: in Linnaeus, he gives details of likely but imperfect matches; he mentions a plate of rh.Palm from Dr Hope which he believes will be a great national saving if the plant thrives; he states that Mr Freer is to publish Flor: Scot: soon; he will send pepper dulse and baderlocks soon and begs duplicate specimens from him; he asks for information of Lord Northington's conservatory, 13 November 1765.
