DescriptionLetter from George Skene, Aberdeen, to David Skene in which he discusses the condition of a young patient; they have discovered another tumour on the boy's shoulder which shows he has a scrophulous tendency; he describes how it looks and suggests that it has the appearance of a scrofulous abscess; he discusses his treatment and his diet and asks for advice on what to do next - whether to open it or 'make a derivation' and suggests Moffat Waters; he informs his brother that the boy's father sees no hope of a cure without amputation and wants to know when it will be done, Skene thinks it an inadvisable course of action, 6 March 1769.
