DescriptionLetter from George Skene (brother to David Skene), Edinburgh, to Andrew Skene in which he informs him that the absorbents did not make a radical cure for the ague but that cobweb pills had a better effect and may have worked if used for longer; discusses opinions of Monro, Whytt and Cullen on treatment of agues; states that he is unimpressed with 'old Monro' - 'he has been at no pains; he receives any sort of patient and his lectures cost him no manner of trouble' - but he speaks more favourably of William Cullen; describes case of girl with 'Iliac passion' and her treatment; describes case of a man with a large tumour on his cheekbone, 9 March 1760.
