DescriptionLetter from George Skene, Edinburgh, to Andrew Skene in which he refers to scarcity of 'chirurgical' cases stating that he has only seen one operation since he arrived; he states that there has been nothing new in clinical practice save the use of testaceous powders in intermittent fevers by Dr Whytt; Dr Whytt even gave instances of cobwebs stopping agues; he discusses other treatments for agues and fevers; he describes application of 'exfoliating trepan' to a young boy with a scalp injury, 6 January 1760.
