DescriptionLetter from John Hope to David Skene in which he approves Skene's work on a catalogue of plants in his neighbourhood; he refers to the forthcoming 'Flora Edinburg' by Mr. Walker who was a Minister at Moffat; he describes his own activity in plant-collecting and invites Skene to visit; he refers to Dr. Penekuick's 'History of Tweeddale', to errors in Hudson's book, to J. Sutherland's 'Hortus medicus Edinburgensis' and to the progress of the publication of Linnaeus' works; he regrets the absence of a botanical correspondent for Inverness and Ross-shire, 25 August 1763.
